For years I had eczema on my hands

Cracking and bleeding

So I held my hands in a cup shape, accepting.

No amount of ointment, funny diets or tinctures would will it away.

After over ten years of cradling my hands which I used as my tools in my jobs

I moved to a new city and it disappeared.

There was no rhyme or reason to its vanishing.

Now and again it bubbles up on the ends of my fingers making the skin tight, uncomfortable.

I like to say it’s just the mean trying to get out.
